Great day at the pyramid et al.
It is a long day, but well worth it. There are enough stops & toilet breaks to break it up. Make sure you have a good breakfast or take a few snacks and water as lunch is a few hours after the start.Our trip was on a large bus from Playa Del Carmen with a few others joining the bus from a minibus (van) at a petrol (gas) station. The air-con blasted a bit so might be worth taking a sweater just for the journey itself.Our trip had a Mexican guide who spoke great English and he spoke for almost all of the outward journey with some great info about the Mayan culture. And was mostly silent on the return journey to let people sleep as it was getting dark and we were tired. And in particular I found the history of their counting system and calendar fascinating (and even earnt myself a cold beer with a correct calculation :) ). They offer you the chance to buy your own dedicated Mayan "birth certificate" which a handful of people on the bus chose to do.Expect to see plenty of hawkers trying to sell you stuff, but easy to dismiss politely.The pyramid is well worth the trip and despite having lots of people around, the site is large enough to allow plenty of opportunity to get your personal photos/selfies.The Cenote where we swam was also a great bonus (and the water is less cold than the mandatory shower you have to take first). But you can decline the whole thing and sit at the snack bar - or access the large Cenote just for photos which requires a life jacket (as steep & slippery steps to get down and the ledge is slippery) - but there is also a smaller Cenote at the lunch stop where you can take some photos without going anywhere near the water or paying for a lifejacket.The lunch stop was a welcome break and the food ok - wuith spicy and non-spicy options. Depending on the level of trip you have paid for, you may or may not have drinks included but you can purchase some if not.We stopped in a Mayan village which was very interesting. They showed us some of their carvings which were exquisite and ceremonies. And we had a multiple tequila tasting (I loved the Mango - note bottles are $39US at the airport duty free or $49 in PDC)We also stopped in Valladolid which is a very picturesque town with numerous coloured facades and a great central square. We only had 30 minutes there but i think a couple of hours or more would be worth it if you have more flexibility.Overall a fabulous day out.

A fun, cool way to see the mangroves and wildlife.
It was fun, easy to operate speedboat. We went on a very windy day, which affected the snorkeling and made for an intense experience driving the speedboat over choppy water, but the guide, Roy, did a good job at maintaining safety. We would do it again in less windy conditions. We saw a crocodile, which was definitely something we wanted to see on this excursion.

It is a long day, 17 hours, but totally worth it! Very well organised with an excellent guide, Carlos and a very good driver, Juan. You get to see the most beautiful spots. Breakfast and lunch included, pre-ordered - according to your choice - so that you get served rightaway when you arrive, very efficient. You get enough time at all the different spots. I can recommend this tour to anyone. Compliments for the organisation and especially for Carlos and Juan.

A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!! We were blown away at the service and degree of expertise on this trip. As it happens, as a couple, we were the only ones in our van with our driver Victor and our guide Alvaro Sr.On route we reviewed Mayan math, having done Chitzen Itza earlier in the week. Upon arrival to Tulum the parking lot was packed, but Victor got us up front and Alvaro arranged to get us umbrellas to beat the sun.Alvaro made several suggestions, letting us decide how best to navigate the day. His expertise payed off as we got transport to the main site, and out again, having him literally take us to the front of the line as it was just the three of us to fit in to the golf carts.We next navigated to the Yul Ku lagoon, and were frankly happily surprised that Alvaro took us first hand into the lagoon and snorkelled with us. He was VERY active pointing out the many amazing and colorful sea life there.We had not anticipated this degree of service and wished the team Muchas Gracias!! at the end of this wonderful and highly rated excursion.

From the start the staff at the marina took care of us, we were receive with drinks at the Catamaran and met some people from Australia and Canada visitingThe snorkel was quick but we still liked it, right after the staff starting pouring drinks non-stop and everyone was dancingAt the beach club we got some buffet food, it was really fresh and quite savory, they had some american food too if you are not into mexican dishesThe rest of the day we played some drinking games and the staff put the mood of the party until the very end

Keep the following in mind when taking a tour
Tours are a good option depending on the needs you have. I have traveled to Mexico several times and when I visit a new place I prefer the tours since they take you to see the most recognized places in each place, however they are very fast, when I have gone for the second time I prefer to go on my own, rent a car and enjoy each destination. If you think about it economically, the tours also work since the vast majority include buffet meals. As I read in comments from other travelers, what is very annoying is the issue of tips, but you are not obliged to give money since they are offering you a service. I suggest you bring your camera so you can save money since the photos are very expensive for the simple fact of being a tourist, although if you have a budget to pay for them, there is nothing like having the quality of those photos and videos and also not worrying about Take photos and live the experience to the fullest. I hope my recommendations help you.

We had an amazing time, our guide was fun and knew we were there to drive the boats now they are a lil outdated but still very fun, snorkeling is also included in this one we did and the water is amazing, warm clear so much to see! As a water baby I truly enjoyed this tour! Captain Juan and guide were very knowledgeable and fun very down to earth people! They had a drone take a nice video of the speed boat tour for purchase after, and a tequila tasting. I'm not big on tequila but let me tell you repesado was the beat if I'm saying that correctly. My husband and I enjoyed our 10 year anniversary 💕

The snorkeling to three reefs was amazing. We saw part of the underwater museum, a ship wreck and many, many turtles! Fili and her crew knew exactly where to go to see the most fish and to be away from the crowd. She was very patient with the children in our group.

Communication with tour provider was good before who allowed for pick-up in Tulum. Explained things about the day well in English despite most of the tour members being Spanish. Good variation of activities provided during the day (cenote, beach club, boat tour etc). Enough time given at each. Good food for breakfast and lunch which was included. Had a great day overall despite it being a long bus ride.
