Adventurous Day Exploring Tulum

My wife and I had a great time! We got to see a beautiful sculpture and art gallery in Tulum, we explored the Mayan ruins, and visited three breathtaking cenotes, two of which we got to swim in and explore. We had a delicious buffet-style Mexican lunch. The tour guides and staff were friendly and helpful. Prepare to spend most of the day on this tour. We started around 9am and finished around 5pm. The price was reasonable for everything we did and included all the food and admission fees, except for entrance to the ruins which had to be paid in cash. I would definitely recommend this tour to explore Tulum!

Zeferino was an excellent guide and Jonathon was a great driver. Learned a lot that we didn’t know about Mayan culture. Really enjoyed the tour. Word of advice. Trip was advertised as NO EXTRA EXPENSES yet when we arrived to check in, the checkin person tried to collect an additional $40 in taxes for the two of us and an additional $48 US per person for life jackets that were required at the cenote. After repeatedly explaining to him that there were to be NO EXTRA EXPENSES and showing him the Cool Cancun listing he finally agreed that no taxes were due but insisted that there was a $48 per person fee for life jackets. My wife and I both thought that this was outrageous and repeatedly asked if it was $48 US per jacket and he insisted $48 US. We did not pay for the life jackets at checkin. I reached out to Cool Cancun while on the bus to Tulum via their chat feature to get clarification regarding these Extra Fees and was told they would check with the tour operator and get back to me but we never heard back. When we arrived at the cenote, we learned that the life jacket fee was $4 per person. The lunch was buffet style and we both enjoyed it. Unfortunately, non alcohol drinks such as bottled water was an additional expense at lunch. Fortunately our driver had a cooler stocked with water. I would bring a non disposable water bottle and umbrella. Plastic disposable water bottles are not allowed in the archeological sites. Overall we had a fantastic trip even though we feel that the checkin person was trying to take advantage of us by attempting to collect additional money from us. Great guide, great driver, nice overview of the sites.

Speedy Refund

Writing this review to comment on their customer service. We were not able to take the excursion due to weather. We were updated days before of possible reschedule because of rain. We couldn't reschedule because we had to return home. They let me know of my other options and opted for refund. Refund took about 3 days to show on card. Hope to be able to take excursion next time we are in Cancun.

Want to climb a pyramid?

Being able to climb the steps of Ek Balam was wonderful. Not many options elsewhere to do this. The Cenote was beautiful. John and Omar were great guides, friendly and professional. A bit of humour mixed along with the history lessons.

Not what I ordered but had fun anyway

I’ll be honest, at first I was a bit wary bc this was not the experience I asked my Delta vacations rep for but it ended up being such a fun experience. My teenage daughter & I did the half day horse back riding, cenotes, zip line, and atv riding. We both had a blast! Our guide, George, was not only fun but he helped me conquer my fear of heights so I could zip line w/ my daughter. He was sincere in his encouragement and that meant a lot. There’s also a tequila tasting at the end but make sure to go early bc it sells out quickly (plus the later I’m the day the hotter).

Funnest tour

George was an amazing tour guide! The whole experience was so fun. The cenote, zip lining, and ATV were all great. Some of the ATV’s were a little sketchy and they tried to blame the passengers, but everyone survived. I would say the worst part was that we finished around 4 and the buses didn’t come till 6. They do that on purpose so that you’ll buy their food. Other than that, fantastic tour and would do it again.
