A memorable day on the Lagoon of Seven Colors

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Bacalar. The colors of the lagoon are incredible, and seeing them from the water really makes a difference. The tour was calm, informative, and well structured. Our guide made the day enjoyable with clear explanations and a friendly attitude. We never felt rushed and had plenty of time to enjoy the scenery and swim. A fantastic way to spend a morning or afternoon in Bacalar!!

Fabulous

Saúl and Raymundo were fabulous and fun. This was a great tour, rustic and not overly crowded or touristy. We explored Ek Balam and climbed the temple steps, visited a beautiful cenote, had a wonderful meal in Valladolid, and ended with a tequila tasting/tour. I have been on several trips to this area and this was definitely one of the funnest days.

Mayan experience without the crowds and hassle

Picked up from hotel in aircon coach, collected all other guests and made our way towards Coba. Guide Santiago spoke to us about the day’s layout whilst providing coffee and cookies, he gave information about Coba, the Mayan history and lots of information, very knowledgeable. Arrived at Coba not as busy or hectic as Chechin Itza got tickets and straight in, you have the option to walk or take a tuck tuck, take the tuck tuck this site is far larger than Itza, and for 180 pesos you get took round the site without walking and it’s a great way to see it, and it’s very warm and humid so helped make the tour so much better, the main pyramid looks bigger than Itza and because it’s in the jungle and not as well known you can get into the shade, to keep cooler and not a lot of crowds and there are no vendors inside at all. Taken round site by Santiargo explained everything and was an excellent tour , there are toilets and a couple of vendors outside but no hassle We returned to the coach and went to the Cenotes, the first was a ceremonial one no swimming took place in the ceremony more information about how they were formed went to the second Cenote, toilets, changing rooms , 61 steps down to the water a spiral staircase ropes in both sides to assist you there are even kayaks in this one After swim went for food a delicious buffet, really well cooked pork and chicken and very tasty , after hibiscus drinks and dessert went to Mayan family home , showed round home, got to prepare Tacos and tasted them while still warm, choice of spicy sauces or honey, both very tasty, tip for this part is take some apples for the owner as she really likes them and they are not a natural fruit for the area, got back on coach and dropped off at hotel another very interesting and enjoyable experience

A looooong day but at the end great tour :)

Great tour!! Our guide Misael was super knowledgeable and explained everything really well. Chichén Itzá was incredible, and the cenote was beautiful. We also liked the stop in Valladolid. The only downside was the long travel time, but we understand it’s because Chichén is pretty far from Cancún. Still, totally worth it!

Day at Coba

We really had a great time, I suggest paying extra for a licensed tour guide about 1600 pesos for the entire tour per group. It was well worth it. There is so much more history and culture that a guide can share. You will enjoy and appreciate everything much more. Amairany Hua was our guide, and she was amazing.

You want Angel to be your guide!

Angel, “Pappa Monkey” was the best guide ever. He made our day and made sure everyone had a great time. He made us laugh, played great music, and took the best care of us! Kayaking, ziplining, rappelling, cliff jumping, and snorkeling. We had a 10 year old to a 52 year old. We all loved Angel and had a blast!

Amazing sites. Wish we were starting closer to them.

We took this as a day trip from Cancun. We visited both the archaeological area At tulum and also at coba. Our driver was super professional and the tour guide had a depth of knowledge about the maya civilization. Both sites are wonderful.I prefer private tours due to Covid and because the schedule only depends on your group.Tulum is super photogenic and has the beautiful backdrop of the sea. Coba is much more rustic and has a wonderful sense of discovery as the ruins emerge from the trees. Our tour included use of bicycles at coba which makes the hike faster and super amusing for teenage kids.We had lunch at Tulum, not included in the tour and took quite a bit of time because of other groups. The area can be quite busy. Might be helpful for the tour company to consider a location away from the entrance to the site for lunch. As you are paying you can ask them for a different location.Tour provided bottled water and bikes at coba, but no extra amenities. Also no side stops for shopping to generate commissions for the tour. Very self directed. If you want something specific, recommend that you speak up.From Cancun, there is a lot of driving. A bit more than 2 hours each way. Much less driving if you are staying farther south. The sites, the guide and the experience are totally with it, but you should be aware of the balance of time driving against time at the sites.

Off the beaten path and well worth it

Great guide and driver, the tour of Muyil is interesting and just the right length of time before hopping in boat with a well-seasoned boat captain who navigates the Sian Ka'an area like he's done it a million times. Beautiful water and Flora and fauna. Don't miss this trip. Everyone was great and accommodating.
