This was one of three excursions we did with Tours with Mike. The collection was great, the guiding amazing, lunch, the cenote - all amazing. Have to admit being a little disappointed with Ek Balam itself but this has nothing to do with Mike and his team, all of whom were superb.

Just back from a trip to the Yucatan Peninsula where we used the services of Oscar Zermeno for all our travel needs and I felt the need to write this review so that everyone has the chance to meet Oscar and to use his transport company. We had a WhatsApp call with Oscar before we went to Mexico so that we could see if we were going to get on with travelling together and everything was just great.It turns out that Oscar is one of a kind - he's a careful and considerate driver, his car is immaculately clean, he provides water for the journey, he makes regular stops for bathrooms and snack purchasing if you need them, his pricing for travel is fair, he keeps you updated with messages regarding pick up and drop off times.Oscar is well organised so we made all our arrangements with him ahead of our trip, he speaks great English and he's very knowledgeable about all parts of the Yucatan Peninsula including out of the way treasures like Xcambo - a Mayan site we visited on Oscar's recommendation which was really special.Oscar is good company at the same time as being attentive to all his clients needs including any health issues they might have. We were sad to say 'Goodbye' to Oscar as it felt like leaving a friend even after such a short time so we're happy to write this review to encourage any and all who are planning to travel to the Yucatan Peninsula to get in touch with Oscar and experience his professionalism, good company and kindness.Helen Foster

This was truly one of the most beautiful excursions we had during our trip. From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized and incredibly enjoyable.The day began with a punctual hotel pickup in Akumal by our guide Carlos, who gave us a very warm welcome. From the very beginning, he made us feel comfortable and set the tone for a fantastic day.Our first stop was Tulum, followed by Cobá, where we were transported by bicycle rickshaws – such a fun and unique experience! After that, we continued to the stunning Cenote Ik Kil, where we had plenty of free time to swim and enjoy a relaxing lunch.The highlight of the trip was, of course, Chichén Itzá. It’s an absolutely impressive and fascinating site. Carlos made the entire experience even better with his engaging storytelling, deep knowledge, and great sense of humor. He explained everything in a very interesting way and always made sure everyone felt included and comfortable.Overall, this tour was an unforgettable experience and we learned so much about the Mayan culture. We can highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Everything was perfect! Axel, Miguel, and Marvis were super knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging throughout the whole tour. The restaurant choices were amazing, we got a private cenote experience, and they even threw a surprise celebration for one of the kid's birthdays. Mani was our tour guide for the day to Chichen Itza. We all had such a great time. The day went super fast. Mani was brilliant. Took the time to explain to us about the history of the Mayans and the ruins - his knowledge was outstanding. He answered all of our questions and took the time to speak to us and ask about us personally. We would all recommend this trip and the company and most definitely Mani as the guide.

We have been lucky enough to meet Angel, he is an amazing guide, we learned a lot of history with him. It took us to a spectacular cenote, we tasted delicious typical food, and the excursion to chichen itza was wonderful. Fully recommended. The best tour I have ever done in Mexico.

I visited the Tour Chichén Itzá Mayan Cuisine was amazing, first meet Chichén Itzá having a class with the guide Maia, then the cenote and lunch with shopping stop and then get to know the city of Valladolid

Alexandr made our day. He is an excellent and knowlegeable tour guide. Everything worked out perfectly and was well organized.

Overall it was an excellent tour. Every detail was thought of. Before the tour even started, we had great communication from the tour. Arranging pick up was a breeze. The tour was very well planned and paced. Alex is knowledgeable, attentive, and full of fun history facts. His years of experience were clearly evident in how well thought out the tour was. Ek balam is similar to Chichen Itza, but at this site, you can climb the pyramid! It was at the top of my must see attractions when I learned that climbing the pyramid was an option. The Cenote was beautiful. The cool water was especially refreshing after the morning walk through the ruins. The restaurant was an excellent choice. The food was great, and the service was quick. I highly recommend this tour, Alex is definitely the best guide you will find.

An incredible and unforgettable experience. Angel is an excellent professional with a great knowledge of Maia culture, quite committed to making your tour extraordinary. Certainly this is a unique professional, as it highlights not only the beautiful landscapes that the place offers, but also many curiosities about the culture.Super indicative and recommend, my son was delighted to hear the stories and details of their stories.

Overall we had an amazing time! We did the tour as a family with a toddler! Our guide Carlos explained everything very detailed and had always a fun anecdote to tell! We can only recommend the tour, it’s a lot for one day but with a guide as experienced and fun, it goes by smoothly! The driver was also very friendly and we felt save the whole trip!

Absolutely ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Arrived early to pick us up. Gave a great tour to us on the Mexican history of the different states we would travel through with pictures of the region, jungle, different animals. History of Chicen was beautiful to learn and to see the different stages it underwent over the last 100 years to get to where it is today. Their recommendations and activities they offer is great. Would recommend them to anyone. Great service for airport pick up and arrival as well.

If I could rate 10 stars, I would! This private tour was more than I expected. My husband had arranged this tour, and he could not believe how easy it was. We chose the starlit Chichen Itza tour. I have done a tour of Chichen Itza with a Cenote tour in the past, and it was a giant bus of probably 60-80 people during the day. It was crowded, hot, and not all that enjoyable. This night tour was the complete opposite!We were picked up by our guide. Axel and driver, Marvin. Marvin was a complete gentleman, opening the door for me and handing me the seatbelt. It was such a nice gesture, and I felt like a queen. Instantly, in the car, we felt like friends. On our drive, we chatted about everything! My husband was still getting over a cough from way before our trip, and Axel made a stop on our way to get a healing honey mixture from a local stand that also happened to sell the most delicious treats. I'm not sure where this was, but if you take this tour, mention it to Axel to take you there!!! We visited a cenote. We were the only ones there. We spent about 45 minutes in complete heaven. So peaceful and beautiful. Once getting in the car there was a basket of fruit, snacks, water and beer!! From there, we toured the city of Vallidolid. What a beautiful city. We walked all around, experiencing the architecture, the people, the local artisans, and vendors. We visited a park and ate a traditional marquesita. You must eat one on your visit! We went to another market where we sampled all kinds of different candies, cheese, etc. Never once did you feel pressured into buying a thing. All the vendors were very generous at giving samples and showing their offerings but never made you feel uncomfortable in the least. We had a late lunch at the most exquisite restaurant called Ellaganzza. We sat on the back patio and had a traditional family dinner. Being that I was vegetarian, they prepared my own dish of empanadas. The food was beyond delicious!! Afterward, we decided to move on to the town of Piste just outside of Chichen Itza. We visited a park and ate a traditional marquesita. You must try one! We still had some time before the night show so Axel asked us if we wanted to go for a drink or if there was anything we'd like to do or see and we opted to grab a coffee. Of course, Axel knew the perfect place for us- Luna Cafe. What a gem this cafe was. It's an eclectic space with some cool art and an amazing playlist! The service was on point, and the coffees were so smooth. We got an opportunity to speak with the staff, and again, we felt like friends. On to Chichen Itza. What a way to experience the immenseness of a time and place in history. It should not be missed. Of course, Axel had explained the history and significance and even had videos and photos to show us explaining further details. And here is the best part of the tour: Marvin and Axel set up a birthday surprise for my husband! They filled the car with balloons, cupcakes with candles and a gift for him! This was beyond thoughtful and completely unexpected. My husband actually teared up. Axel and Marvin, you really know how to treat people. Your kindness and generosity have not gone unnoticed. Both of you made us feel so special, and we are honoured to have been able to spend the day with you. You will never get treatment like this on any other tour, so do yourself a favour and book with Jaguar Journeys.

This tour was truly a memorable experience![Booking and Communication]The agency was attentive and responsive, answering all my questions via email and the Cool Cancun app. A week in advance, they confirmed the pickup location and time, ensuring everything was clear. They even notified me that a larger group might join on my chosen date and offered to reschedule me to an alternative day at no extra cost—a thoughtful gesture.[Unique Itinerary]This is one of the few tours that visits Tulum, Coba, and Chichén Itzá all in one day—a rare find! They also included a refreshing cenote visit during lunch. All tickets and fees were covered in the price, including admission and bike rentals at Coba, so there were no hidden costs.[Knowledgeable Guide]Our guide, Arturo, made the experience even better. He was friendly and engaging throughout the day, chatting with us during the drives and sharing fascinating insights into Mayan history and the local regions. He used renderings and visuals (pictures/videos) to explain things that are hard to describe and even gave me great recommendations for sightseeing in Oaxaca and Mexico City, where I’ll be heading next.[Well-Designed Program]The tour’s schedule was thoughtfully planned to beat the crowds: 1. Tulum: We were the first to arrive, enjoying the peaceful site before larger groups poured in. 2. Coba: Cool jungle weather made exploring comfortable. 3. Chichén Itzá: By the time we arrived, the morning crowds were leaving, giving us a more relaxed visit.[Great Value]Despite the cost, the tour is reasonably priced given the small group size (it was just us!) and the ambitious itinerary. I researched beforehand, and most other tours charge half the price for just one circuit, such as Tulum and Coba or Chichén Itzá and Valladolid. This tour saved us an entire day, which we could spend exploring other parts of Mexico.[Things to Keep in Mind]• Time Management: The total drive is around 5–6 hours in a clean and comfortable vehicle. • Time at Each Site: You’ll have about 1 hour at Tulum, 1 hour at Coba, 1 hour at lunch/cenote and 2 hours at Chichén Itzá. • If you’d like to spend more than 3 hours at Chichén Itzá, consider staying overnight nearby or booking a custom tour. Most tours from Cancun allocate less than 2 hours at the site, as they also include stops at cenotes and Valladolid.[Final Thoughts]Overall, I highly recommend this tour. It’s perfect for travelers like us who prefer to maximize sightseeing over swimming in cenotes. The thoughtful itinerary, knowledgeable guide, and efficient organization made it an unforgettable experience.This version organizes your thoughts into clear sections and highlights key points for potential travelers while maintaining the personal touch of your experience.

Our private tour was worth every penny! Our guide, Alvaro was a wonderful guide, had a wealth of knowledge and took great care of us all day! Our experience at the ruins was wonderful. Ek Balam was unique and older than Chichen Itza. Because it’s a newer discovered site, we were able to climb the steps and go inside some of the buildings. Lunch was amazing and the cenote was exciting!
