We spent an entire day with Alexandr Susha covering Ek Balam, Valladolid, Cenote Ik Kil, and Chichén Itzá — an ambitious itinerary for one day, and he pulled it off flawlessly. From the very first pickup, Alexandr was punctual, organized, and clearly had the logistics of the day mapped out so we never felt rushed or wasted time waiting around.At Ek Balam, he gave us rich historical context on the Mayan site without overwhelming us with dates and names — he had a real gift for making the history feel alive and relevant. Our stroll through Valladolid felt like a local's tour rather than a tourist stop, with great recommendations for food and photo spots. The swim at Cenote Ik Kil was perfectly timed to help us cool off and recharge before the final stretch, and Alexandr made sure we had enough time there to actually enjoy it rather than just check a box.By the time we reached Chichén Itzá, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, his energy hadn't dipped at all — if anything, this is where his knowledge and passion really shone. He answered every question thoughtfully, shared great stories about Mayan culture and astronomy, and helped us get some fantastic photos. A very interesting and different tour thanks to Ekbalam, including the possibility of covering in a single day the classics like Chichen Itza, Valladolid, and a cenote with a very good buffet lunch. We had a great time, I recommend it!

The best choice for travellers who need individual tours. Alexander was very flexible when we were discussing the time and the route. The car was ideally clean. Alexander does everything to make sure travellers have the best impression and pleasant memories from the trip (my husband asked for a little favour - buy and bring some beer cans in the brewery where we didn't have time to go - and Alexander had no issues with doing that - very thankful for that extra service). We just got back from the 5-day “World of Maya” trip in Mexico, and it was amazing! Everything was so well organized that we didn’t have to worry about a thing.Our guide, Alexander, knows history inside out and even shares myths and conspiracy theories if you ask—makes the trip even more fun! The food was delicious and safe. The whole trip was super comfortable. Even a traffic jam didn’t spoil anything—we got to watch a beautiful sunset instead! During the tour we didn’t just see the main sights but also some unexpected and fascinating places, like a local cemetery and a Mennonite community—places we’d never have thought to visit on our own. One tip: If you’re flying into Cancún Airport, arrange a transfer in advance—either with Alexander or your first hotel. The taxis there are expensive, not always official, and Uber drivers usually avoid the area.

13 hours flew by in the blink of an eye, yet the experience felt as rich as a week-long journey. Alexander is an exceptional guide with an incredible depth of knowledge, an engaging delivery, attention to detail, a great sense of humor, and constant care for each and every one of us. It was a wonderfully spent day. We would be thrilled to travel with such an amazing guide again and again!

My best day in all Playa journey was this trip! Sasha showed us piramides, sinot, told a lot of interesting facts, also not well-known and some of them made my eyes 👀 looked bigger. His sense of humour, responsibility and care made this trip really amazing.

It was a wonderful excursion that will be remembered for a long time. 2 hours in Chichen Itza and 2 hours ago flew by under Alexander’s stories about the daily life of Mexicans, about their joys, problems and worries. And of course, the excursion itself was very interesting, without the feeling that you were being lectured by a teacher, rather a good friend was sharing his knowledge. Thanks a lot!
