Next, we’ll set course for Isla Contoy, a protected ecological reserve. Upon arrival, you’ll explore the island’s natural beauty with our certified guide, who will share insights into its unique ecosystems, birdlife, and conservation efforts.
Then, it’s time to unwind. Relax on the white-sand beach, swim in the warm, shallow waters, or enjoy a second snorkeling session near the shore.
After building up an appetite, you’ll savor a traditional regional meal, featuring:

On our way back, we’ll make a final stop at Isla Mujeres, where you’ll have free time to stroll through the colorful downtown, explore local shops, and pick up a few souvenirs before returning home.

Your adventure begins with a scenic boat ride across the Caribbean Sea, featuring a snorkeling stop at Ixlaché Reef—part of the second-largest coral reef system in the world.
Discover vibrant marine life, colorful coral formations, and tropical fish in crystal-clear waters.
Once on the island, you'll explore Isla Contoy, a government-protected sanctuary that’s home to over 150 species of birds and a rich variety of native flora and fauna.
After exploring the natural paradise of Isla Contoy, we’ll head to Isla Mujeres, a vibrant island famous for its powdery white-sand beaches and crystal-clear turquoise waters.
Here, you’ll have free time to:

- Due to operational and safety policies, snorkel locations may be modified on the day of the tour depending on weather or current conditions. In such cases, Ixlaché may be substituted with El Meco or the Contoy inlet, while still providing the included snorkeling experience. Please note that no refund or partial refund applies, as the snorkeling portion represents less than the total value of the tour and the activity is still provided at an alternate location of equal quality and safety. We appreciate your understanding and remain committed to offering the best possible experience

Yes, we allow pregnant women to go on snorkeling. However, it’s crucial to consult with your healthcare provider before doing so to assess your individual health and pregnancy stage.
Jan 2022Yes, this is possible, as long as you are comfortable going into the water. All Cool Cancun snorkeling tours adhere to strict safety regulations and have been designed to be enjoyed by all.
Your safety is our #1 priority, which is why:
- You will be wearing a flotation device at all times.
- On many tours, there is a stairway from the boat into the water so you won’t have to “jump” in!
- There are trained staff in the water and watching from the boat at all times.
For these reasons, we believe that even non-swimmers can have a wonderful time on our snorkeling trips, however, the final judgment call is yours to make. Please note we do not give refunds if you decide not to snorkel on the trip.
Oct 2021The snorkel gear we use on Cool Cancun tours is high quality and for your protection, the equipment is sanitized after each use. However, if you feel more comfortable using your own snorkeling equipment, feel free to bring it on the tour. Please note, there is no discount for providing your own equipment and we can’t be responsible for any lost or damaged items.

Oct 2021There are no legal age limits for snorkeling. We have found that age 5 or 6 is a good age to learn the basics of snorkeling, however, it’s entirely up to individuals to make the best choice for their family.
Sep 2021- For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the tour start time.
- If you cancel less than 24 hours before the tour start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
- Any changes made less than 24 hours before the tour start time will not be accepted.
