2 Tank Reef Dive in Mexico
Overview
We are known to be one of the best dive shops in the Mexican Caribbean. From the moment you check in until the moment you bid us adios, you will appreciate the differences between us and other dive operators. Once you have checked in you will never have to deal with assembly of your equipment, hauling tanks to the boat or even rinsing your gear after an incredible day of diving. We will take all the work out of your dive vacation.
Our dive trips and scuba vacations make us a popular Puerto Morelos travel destination.
We are conveniently located 23 minutes from the airport (CUN) and positioned halfway between Playa del Carmen and Cancun, about 20 miles/35 km from either city.
Certified divers enjoy incredible scuba diving tours with a wonderful diversity of sea life diving in the Puerto Morelos National Marine park which has been a protected area for 23 years!

What To Expect
This is a tour for divers that already hold a certification card.
Please do not apply any types of creams or lotions before your excursion. Many products say “turtle or Reef Friendly”, we have found most of them are not.
We will offer you the use of our wetsuits free of charge to protect your skin from the sun!
Pre-board activities;
Meet the team, check-in & paperwork. Be sure to bring your scuba certification card!
Equipment check and dive plan.
All aboard, meet your captain, & go over boat safety
All Dives
Short boat rides for each site. (15-20 minutes approx.)
Backroll entry onto dive site
Our dive profiles are 45 minutes with a 3-min safety stop.
Check-in is at either 8:30 AM or 12:30 PM to head out for a two-tank reef dive to explore the warm Caribbean waters, and take in the wondrous world of our National Marine Park.
Surface & return to the boat, enjoy a light snack & water as we take a 5 minutes ride to our second site
The Crew will change all your gear during the surface interval on the boat
Backroll entry onto our second dive site
Surface & head back to the shop. We have showers and towels for you to use before you continue your day.

Yes, we allow pregnant women to go on snorkeling. However, it’s crucial to consult with your healthcare provider before doing so to assess your individual health and pregnancy stage.
Jan 2022Yes, this is possible, as long as you are comfortable going into the water. All Cool Cancun snorkeling tours adhere to strict safety regulations and have been designed to be enjoyed by all.
Your safety is our #1 priority, which is why:
- You will be wearing a flotation device at all times.
- On many tours, there is a stairway from the boat into the water so you won’t have to “jump” in!
- There are trained staff in the water and watching from the boat at all times.
For these reasons, we believe that even non-swimmers can have a wonderful time on our snorkeling trips, however, the final judgment call is yours to make. Please note we do not give refunds if you decide not to snorkel on the trip.
Oct 2021The snorkel gear we use on Cool Cancun tours is high quality and for your protection, the equipment is sanitized after each use. However, if you feel more comfortable using your own snorkeling equipment, feel free to bring it on the tour. Please note, there is no discount for providing your own equipment and we can’t be responsible for any lost or damaged items.
May 2023Participants in the 2 Tank Reef Dive in Mexico cannot fly in an airplane within 24 hours of their dive.
The main concern with scuba diving and flying is decompression sickness (DCS). Your body needs adequate time during an ascent to off-gas excess nitrogen, or you can form bubbles in your bloodstream, possibly leading to DCS.
Jun 2024First-time snorkelers can be assured of one-on-one instruction and assistance. We find introducing folks to our world very rewarding!
Oct 2021There are no legal age limits for snorkeling. We have found that age 5 or 6 is a good age to learn the basics of snorkeling, however, it’s entirely up to individuals to make the best choice for their family.
Sep 2021- For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the tour start time.
- If you cancel less than 24 hours before the tour start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
- Any changes made less than 24 hours before the tour start time will not be accepted.
